Turn play, filled up...
High stack mtt (note is on ladbrokes, play tends to be a bit less agg than on stars / FT etc). Villain is a good standard, regular mtt player - I guess you could say "average internet mtt pro" but he plays lower level games ($10 - $50 generally) and tends to 6 table. He's fairly tight / ABC, good at reading hands and playing them according to opponents range / if he feels he’s ahead.
His view of me is probably that I am a bit loose overall, maybe over-aggressive, tend to continuation bet a lot of flops, but I’ve played a lot of final tables with him so I think he sees me as a good / tricky player. Seeing as it's only level 2 and I'm utg he prob knows I likely have a premium hand. Blinds: t15/t30 9 players UTG t7519 Button t10263 (Average stack around 6000) Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero raises to t120, 5 folds, Button calls, 2 folds. Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (t285, 2 players) Hero bets t235, Button calls. Re: Turn play, filled up...
Who's villain as a matter of interest?
Anyway, bet more on the turn. He obviously likes his hand. I haven't played Ladbrokes for a while. I used to be pretty aggro there because it's so tight so I'd shove against people like Wildrick and call against someone like Decision. Do they still play? |

[/ QUOTE ] Rick still plays there a bit (much less recently though), Decision hardly at all now. Unfortunately the site is starting to suck more and more so quite a few people have been leaving... |

Re: Turn play, filled up...
Yeah. The $20r used to rock but then then they lowered the guarantees and the fields got smaller so I haven't played this year. It's a shame. I liked the no antes structure.

Re: Turn play, filled up...
I probably play this much faster. If he has a draw he is probably calling if you re-raise getting like 2:1 with what he thinks are implied odds. If he has a 5 he is stacking off. If he has 888 he is definitely stacking off.
I try to make this pot as big as possible right now so when I jam on the river it isn't an overbet. |

Re: Turn play, filled up...
I really don't think he has a draw.
I see his effective range as AQ+, KK+, 5 or 88. There'll be other stuff there too but it's irrelevant because it's not calling a raise, a river bet and rarely betting if we check the river. Ladbrokes is real tight. The important part of the range is what is now two pair. Guys like Wildrick aren't folding any of what I mentioned above to someone like me, unless I raise, in which case he could get away. He'd call a shove though (by me). Decision, for example, and a lot of goodish/successful players, can fold AQ and even KK+. The lack of antes and the deep stacks means that you can just wait for clearly very +EV spots and for the divvies to bust out in a small field - this is what a lot of leaderboard heros used to do. The turn bet can be bigger. I'd go pot because it looks fishy and then check-raise the river if you get raised. As it stands, and 'block' biggish on the river. He'll come over the top with a boat. |

Re: Turn play, filled up...
FWIW am almost 100% sure he wouldn't call preflop with a 5 i.e. 54s, 56s etc...
Only 5 he'd be calling with pre flop is 55 IMO. |
