keeping the sex up in a LTR

I heard an interesting theory the other day. Supposedly, one way of keeping sex interesting in a LTR is to not do mundane stuff together, like being in the bathroom while brushing teeth, peeing, etc. The idea behind it is that brushing teeth=not sexy, just boring. So if you don't watch the other person do this stuff, they will seem less mundane, but more mysterious and ergo sexier.

For the record, I don't necessarily agree with the idea.

I was curious to see what OOT thought on the topic. Although I know the consensus previously has been: girls you can fart in front of=good.

I bet most will disagree, but I buy it. The chase, the mystery, the hoping she calls keeps it exciting. Not farting in her face first thing in the morning while she is trying to brush her teeth, cut her toenails, and take a [censored] all at the same time.

When I do those things around a boyfriend, it shows that I'm more comfortable. And when I'm more comfortable, the sex gets better.

However, in the long term, I don't think it's things like flossing and doing dishes together that will make a relationship mundane and ultimately kill it. That being said, there is no reason for him to be around when I'm shaving my cooch. That just isn't right.

I am 24, and I have had the same girlfriend since I was 18. I think you would lose a lot more in a long term relationship by actively trying to avoid doing everyday tasks together (like dishes, brushing your teeth, etc.) than you would gain sexually.

These things are trivial. There are many far more important factors involved in keeping a relationship healthy and strong. And a healthy and strong relationship will foster intimacy.

Edit: Good example. I had one girlfriend who used to like to hold me while I peed. I'd end up peeing all over the place and we would both be cracking up. It was hilarious and very intimate.

This idea has other applications. I've read that you shouldn't do anything other than sleep (and have sex) on your bed. If you watch TV, read, etc. you're not going to be able to sleep as easily.
