Aces up weird action
Villain is 35/19 and seems pretty bad. Hes made some strange donks such as K5 on a T46 board and bet all 3 streets UI.

Re: Aces up weird action
raise the flop. you are ahead like 90% of the time, probably more given your read
definitely call the river |

Re: Aces up weird action
Calls. This is a pretty fugly board, and I'd hate to get 3-bet. Folding is obviously terrible.
I assume you called the flop intending to raise a non-spade turn, right? |

If there was a player to act behind hero, obviously raise |

Re: Aces up weird action
that's a pretty strong sentiment. why?
I think waiting until the turn is good too, any maybe better, but I don't see how raising the flop is horrible. edit: I agree waiting until the turn is better horrible just seemed like pretty strong wording for what is usually a 1SB difference. not many villains will double barrel this board as a total bluff |

[/ QUOTE ] Wins the least when ahead, especially where villain is drawing slim/dead (e.g. Ax where x<9), and loses you more when behind. Plus raising the turn charges lone spade draws more. |

that's a pretty strong sentiment. why? I think waiting until the turn is good too, any maybe better, but I don't see how raising the flop is horrible. [/ QUOTE ] Against a guy that will bet nothing on the flop and potentially bet nothing all the way raising the flop is the last thing you want to do. The strategic choice in this hand is whether the hero should raise a nonspade turn or simply call the turn and raise a nonspade river. Which line is optimal depends largely on how often the villain will have a no pair/no draw type of hand and also how often the villain will bluff the river if we just call the turn. Raising the flop just lets these habitual donk with nothing people off the hook. |
