I like to bet the flop for about 150.

As played I would bet the turn a little less - again probably 150.

I can't really see many hands which would call your turn bet, but fold to the river bet so I would often give it up on the river. Besides the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] isn't a scare card at all.

They usually don't buy your snake oil once you checked that flop. t150-175 on the flop wold have been better.

As played I'd prolly just check again on the turn; smaller bet would be enough (getting Ax, Kx, Qx to fold). On the river a smaller bet will accomplish what you were doing, but I'd still prolly just check again.

i was trying some of that fancy hand reading stuff that is talked about from time to time.

on the river, as long as the nine did not help him, i could not think of many hands that can call my river bet. i had a real hard time believing A2/A3/A4/set/overpair would check that flop.

so when he check/called the turn i figured he had overcards with an ace. i bet a little extra on the river (400 instead of 300) just so AT would not make a heroic call.

what type of hands are you putting this guy on?

I don't put EP limpers at lvl 4 on hands. Start him off with any pair, any ace, any suited connector or one gapper, any suited K, any 2 broadway, and a few other random crap hands. Then start hand reading.

He could have AA, he could have a set, he could have an overpair, he could have 77, he could have 65s, he could have T9s. People check sets ALL THE TIME on the scariest boards imaginable. Then of course he's going to smoothcall the FH. You're putting him on the only type of hand he could have, out of many, that this play works against.

i think you can hand read a bit more, even vs unknown/bad players. it is fine to start off their range as you have (65% or so), but after the flop check and turn check/call i think you can narrow the range a ton.

i only need to get him to fold 40% for this to be a good bluff, and i think i get it over 50% in this siutation.

villians line looks a ton like A6-AJ.

Flop is kind of interesting against such a passive villain because when you get raised you are screwed a lot of the time.
I don't mind checking the flop.
As played though check fold river every draw missed and this guys seems to like calling.
