200nl, wierd spot with rivered trips
Villian is unknown, I can see an argument for either call or raise here, but what I'm having trouble with is putting this guy on a range.
Does Jx check the whole way til the river? Does he play a flopped set like this? Did he maybe make a straight with 57? Re: 200nl, wierd spot with rivered trips
I call just because it's a limped pot. Villain is clearly terrible, though. Most likely holdings in my view are 56, 67 or A6, and possibly a jack that he thought he was slowplaying or something. He doesn't have a set or the straight often at all. Anyway, if you raise, you'll definitely get called by 6s you beat, but they could also re-raise if he's real bad, which means that if you get re-popped you could easily get stacked by a boat/better six because I think you'd have to call based on apparent retardedness of villain... Maybe not actually, most retards won't go THAT ballistic with weak trips here.
I dunno, I hate these spots and I suck at working them out. You can't put him on a range because there's been no action to base a decision on. That's probably the best reason why I just call. |

Dont wanna be a dick, but since you are not folding and your hand is to weak to reraise, just call.
Honestly i don't even think you're ahead most of the time, but heck, you got trips, its cheap, so call. |

Re: 200nl, wierd spot with rivered trips
You're asking yourself the wrong question here...
The correct questions are: If I raise, which worse hands will call? Will he fold a better six? The answers are likely none and no, therefore calling is probably best. You can be pretty sure that he'll only call a reraise with hands that crush you here. You're priced in to call here, especially if you think he can do this with a jack, so call. |

Open limp from the CO. Donk probably slowplayed trips or a straight. Or he could just think you are trying to buy the pot, who knows. I just call I think.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree in general, but no one ever folds trips, and some trips have lower kickers than a 9, so I think there are hands we beat that can call a re-raise here. I also think that 56/67 (along with A6) are more likely to open limp in the CO than T6 or Q6. 46/86 are somewhat likely open limping hands as well, but they probably bet earlier in the hand. Anyway, my point is that I think here it's somewhat close between the hands that we beat and call, and the hands that beat us. The real problem with raising, in my view, is re-opening up the betting, cause I don't want to be bet off my hand by some spanker who open limps in the cutoff and overvalues 56 in this spot. |

Re: 200nl, wierd spot with rivered trips
We have a strong hand..folding is out of the question.
We don't have reasosn to believe he will pay us off light and a reraise means a lot of strenght here. Just call. |

Re: 200nl, wierd spot with rivered trips
call.. this is a spot where bad players often try to make a move,so folding is out of question
dont like rereraise, because mostly better hands will call you. |
