McClaren is trying to [censored] up Steven Gerrard that's what's going on.

Also, apparently Fernando Torres banged up his knee in training but is not expected to miss Spain's qualifier on Saturday.

Ballack got left off the CL Group Stage roster. People are shocked but he was for sure going to miss 2 games anyway. I think if they had a harder group he would be in there.

Sheva played a charity match in Ukraine but hasn't even been on the bench for any matches. He apparently says he fit and will wait for Jose to call upon him. Does any (ex-)world class athlete have less drive than that guy?

He got paid. If anything Sheva is buying his time until Jose is gone.

[/ QUOTE ]Jose is not going to play him no matter what he says. Might as well just keep fit and wait for the next transfer window.

And to be fair to Shevchenko, he didn't just say "Oh, well." He said he is fit and "doesn't understand" why he's not being played. Which may be a subtle hint to his pal Roman to apply pressure to Jose.

Agree with you and TSC. But I would rather have guys on the team that say stuff like "I am great, play me or get rid of me. I can play nearly anywhere." That shows the drive and an attitude of a winner, a bit prickish maybe but a winner. What he said doesn't communicate that type of attitude.

I agree with you KJS.

Sadly, I think Jose will be gone at the end of the season, if not sooner. Depends completely on how the season goes. Its doubtful whoever they bring in can have the same impact as Jose.

Here's another chart, this time right for KDawg, just to show I a not picking on his Flock of Eagles.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...angewithRU.jpg

Shows the average points won per every three games by the champ and the runner up.

The red line is the average points won per round for the whole year.

Blue line is the same for the runner up.

Very interesting, it shows that games 18-24 seem to be the most pivotal games. No coincidence those games occur in the middle of december through the end of January. If teams are still in the FA and League cup, they could have at least 4 additional games in January. No surprise that a early exit from a domestic cup can have a positive impact. Look no further than ManU last year, getting knocked out of the League Cup early.

Anyway, thoughts please.

this is pretty much what I've been saying is that right now is far from the business part of the season, and why I keep on saying lets wait until after the christmas/new year's stretch of matches to see where everything stands
