Default Run a hand twice: proper way?

Hello,

I have heard of some people in games "running a hand twice" for half the pot each time if one of the players is all-in and there are "interesting" hands (e.g., AA vs KK), just to eliminate/minimize the element of luck.

What is the proper way to do this?

Say, for example, it is AA vs KK, and it's just after the flop. The players agree to deal the Turn and the River twice (though I know they can do the whole Flop, Turn, and River, or just the River if they like). How would this be done:

1.) Deal the Turn and River normally, then just deal them immediately again (with appropriate burn cards); or
2.) Deal the Turn and River, shuffle the cards (including the Turn and River burns) back into the deck, the deal it again?

Thanks for your enlightenment! :-)

The way I've seen it done on HSP is the first way. Burn, turn, burn, river... leave them out there... then burn, turn, burn, river again.

from what i saw on HSP :

run it twice #1 : dude pushed allin on the turn and was called. they only ran the river

run it twice #2 : dude pushed preflop and was called. they ran the whole board twice.

maybe it's a situational thing? Hold 'em is a 7 card game. not 8-12. avoid running it twice .

I've only seen #1. Just reduces variance basically.

It doesn't matter from an EV perspective (in other words, both methods are fair to both players). People usually do it the first way because it is faster and more convenient.
