Default damn potlimit, how is this?

Full tilt poker 24.2 potlimit 6max doublestack.

6left blinds 2500/5000 no ante.

me (bb) ~60k
limper (utg+1) ~80k

other stacks 100k+ except one other on 60k i think.

limper is steaming bigtime, was bigstack recently until he threw it away. And has played more or less every hand since then, both raising and limping. I belive he got some crap here that he decided not to raise or whatever.

i find 55 in bb.

everyone else folds.

whats our play?

pretty obv check, i doubt he's limp/folding if he's on the steam. take a flop and watch out for broadway.

I would never check here. Too likely we have the best hand, why let villain see a cheap flop? Even if he calls preflop, 2/3 of the time he misses the flop and folds to our bet and we pick up some much needed chips. I'd pot it preflop. And then pot flop if he calls no matter what comes.

You're assuming he'll call most of the times we raise AND fold to a cbet, 2 huge assumptions and I'd say definitely incorrect based on info given, we may have likely the best hand but we dont really want to play a big pot with 55 oop when we dont have to, esp against someone who we just wont have much FE against. Ask yourself what you do if he reraises pre or repots the flop, and if you're happy with either of said situations.

btw I check pf and 2/3 - 3/4 pot any decent flop, the ace is probably a decent card while we are very wary of the rest of broadway.

ok, i was thinkiing about the situation like jesse, pot it here and take it on flop 2/3rds, and be out the other 1/3.

if i raise here im felting this hand. I belive the limper is gonna call.

Doesnt i set up a pretty profitable situation here by pot/poting it?. remember i got 12bb and really need to make something happen.

If we raise here and are re-raised (very common in PL), do we let go? If we raise here we are committed to this hand no matter what the flop and we'll be OOP for the rest of the hand. This is why I check here.

Based on the read OP has on villain if he re-raises preflop I wouldn't be too upset getting it all in preflop. If he re-pots on flop this is an easy call because its like less than 2 bbs more.
