Default Someone just knocked at my door...

I live in an apartment complex with loud Mexican families. They are often blasting their music and the family that lives directly below me plays loud bass early in the morning some mornings. The other day I couldn't take it, so I began stomping up and down until the music stopped (about 1.5 minutes).

They just played the loud bass again, the type that rattles the apartment. I did the stomping thing again, then the music stopped after 5 minutes of intermittent stomping.

5 minutes later there was a knock on my door. I wasn't expecting anyone, and I do not like face-to-face confrontation, so I just ignored whoever was knocking (I have no peephole). He/she went away.

There people are horrible to live around though - you know, hard working Mexicans - and I have nothing against Mexicans per se, but they are loud, often blast their loud Mexican music from their cars, which rattle the carport next to my apartment and I can feel it in here.

The complex has a rule against fixing your cars in the parking lot, but almost every single night for the last 3 months, they are out there fixing their cars and blasting their music. I understand that they are likely poor and don't want to take their car to a shop, but I can't stand it anymore - every night 5 Mexicans blasting their music, littering beer cans, their little kids running around.

There are two approx. 8 year old Mexican girls who play on the outside stairwell that leads to my apartment. They are there about 30% of the days that I come home and they live below me, so there is no reason for them to be there. They sit there, in my way, as I stand in front of them and politely say excuse me, they don't budge. "Excusame" - they don't budge, so I have to climb over them. I complained to the leasing office and they said "It's a stairwell, I don't think there's anything in the lease that says they can't play there."

I replied that there's nothing in the lease that says I can't set up a patio chair outside the door to the leasing office so they had to climb over me to get to work. Am I wrong here? Should I be putting up with this [censored]? If they lived in one of the apts on the second floor, I'd give it some more consideration, but firstly - if you let your kids play on a stairwell, you are being a bad parent Secondly, get out of my [censored] way. Next time it won't be "excuse me," it will be "muevete pendejo."

I am from the east coast, where life is very different. Mexicans on the east coast are like any other American - but in Arizona it's like they are Mexicans despite being American.

Am I a racist for saying this? I hope not. I am not making any generalizations, just observations. Driving on the I10 to work everyday, there are ALWAYS at least a few trucks carrying Mexicans in the trailer (which is illegal) and I have never seen anyone of a different race doing that. That is not a stereotype, since I am basing this on a large sample size and simply making an observation.

When I initially moved to this apartment complex I was told a lot of ASU students live here. I was lied to. To break the lease will cost me about $600.

I haven't even paid this month's rent, since I was pissed off that - on January 27 we received a letter explaining they are replacing the mailboxes on Jan. 30, so there would be no mail delivery until the 31st. Fine. On the 31st, my key does not work in the new box (maybe obv., but the Jan. 27 letter made no such mention of needing a new key.). So, it is after business hours and I leave a message explaining that I need a key. Next day, no reply. I call up on the 2nd and am told we are supposed to pick up the key, and I explain that I clearly can't pay rent until I desposit the paycheck and clearly can't pick up the key, since I am at working when the office is open. They leave the key in my apt. Fine.

So now, here I am, just lost $100 at Casino Arizona (mainly dude to having my AdAc lose to AsQs on an Ah6h2s flop). Pissed off and getting ready to go play golf with Llyaner and her friends in Tempe.

Ok. I vented.
