I say they let moyer skip his next start, just like they just let eaton sit for a while, it looks like he could use the rest.

And pitch Eaton instead? Umm, no thank you.

"Making his first start since Aug. 11 because of a sore right shoulder, Eaton's 5 2-3 innings was actually his longest outing since a late July start. He still hasn't won since July 20th and has pitched beyond the sixth inning only once in his last seven starts.

Eaton gave up five hits and lowered his abysmal 6.36 ERA -- the highest in the majors -- to 6.23."

I dunno Fink; Moyer's not even breaking 80 with his fastball anymore.

Eaton looked good tonite, I think he might have just needed a little break to clear his head more than because he is injured. Right now, Moyer is pitching terribly, I think he could sit for one start to rest and clear his mind a little bit too. I think it would really help.

Moyers ERA isnt exactly stellar, and over his last 8 starts it is awful.

I really think that Moyer should be moved to the bullpen, if not this season, than at least for next season.

He's clearly showing his age at this point, and it's time to consider the fact that maybe he just can't pitch 200 innings in a season anymore. He was one of our better starters at the beginning of the season, but the long season has worn him down.

For some reason though, Moyer seems to be penciled in as a "sure thing" for the rotation next year. I don't get it

1. In terms of this year, you can't move him to the bullpen now.

2. In terms of next season, who cares?
