15.-1.50 pokerstars tourney. some 1000 players. Down to 83, 63 gets paid.

Blinds 300- 600, some ante.

1 or 2 orbits at the table, villain been in maybe 2pots during that time. No other info.

me 10k in sb, with 77

villain 16k in CO makes it 1800.

I push all day long, no?

It's not a resteal if you have a real hand.

And yes, push.

I would prefer a better read on villain If you have seen someone steal often or even better fold to a push then yes stick it all in. In this case I think it could be a little rash your probably a coin flip at best if he calls. Your low on chips and need to make a move but I would wait for a better spot and push all in preflop with decent cards and an unopened pot. this gives you the best chane at stealing the blinds (result!) If you do this 2-3 and take the blinds you will build your stack nicely. The poker gods will then bless you with AA or KK for you to double up with :-)

whats wrong with folding and opening with a 2.5x in a better spot? If you get RR'ed there then you have 10bb and can go into open push mode. Not that I wouldnt shove sometimes. But I think the alternative is >

I prefer to stay out of open push mode if possible. It's true you could fold here, and then try to find another spot later to steal, planning to get away if you get pressured. But why not be the one applying the pressure right here? There's 2700 in the pot to win, and you're likely holding the best hand in this spot. Yeah, if you're called you're at best in a flip, but you can't win tournaments by folding mid-pairs in the blinds following a probable steal attempt by the CO seat.

ok, thanks. obviously i agree with pushing, just checking in..

I used to wanna have better reads but when u start hopping tables u never gonna have good enough reads and gotta go with some default choice no?

anyway i got instacalled by 10/10 and off we go, but most of the times u pick up a good pot.
