Re: Casino hotel room quality: Aladdin vs. Sahara & Stratosphere
Costs 10.95 a night for wireless internet at the Strat, FWIW. I thought the rooms were fine there -- they also have $5 BJ, something you won't be able to find much of anywhere outside of downtown. Unfortunately, it's way the hell up the Strip, so you've got a loooong walk (or a short drive) to pretty much anywhere else you'd want to go. But I thought overall it was a great value.

Re: Casino hotel room quality: Aladdin vs. Sahara & Stratosphere
Aladdin deal is sold out so looks like I'll end up at Stratosphere, and I don't mind the north strip location. Feeling rather guilty about spending the money to go at all, but trying to look upon it as a skill-developing trip, heh. Not that I couldn't play around here and save the travel expense.
Close your eyes and the $5 BJ will be just fine. Don't forget to double down. |

Re: Casino hotel room quality: Aladdin vs. Sahara & Stratosphere
It's a long, and often aggravating, drive from Strat to Caesars/Bellagio. OTOH it's walking distance from Olympic Gardens. I know you can't do Aladdin this time, but it's in a great spot if you like cheap tournaments. They have 4 a day, plus it's an easy walk to Paris, Bally's, and Bellagio. Caesars is a bit farther, but still not bad. The only good thing about the Aladdin poker room is it's right next to the ladies room, and sometimes the traffic is very aesthetic.
