Default Stanley Casino - Bristol, UK

Hi,

Random post likely to get no replies (unless I get lucky and a mild flaming...)

Has anyone played at this casino? According to their website they run rebuy NLHE tourneys weds/thurs/fri and a FO on sat. Does anyone

a) know the starting stacks?
b) know the blind structure?
c) know how tough the competition is?

And if it wasn't obvious, their website sucks. Maybe the Stanley chain runs the same tourneys nationwide in which case someone here must know the answer?

The alterior motive for this post is, if no-one responds, I at least have a partitial answer on (c)

Many thanks

*Edit. There were 3 references to 'Bristol' in this forum in the last 2 years. So I guess that's that.

I can't speak about Bristol I'm afraid, but talking about c) it might not be that different from London, where most of the high-stakes live players are a bunch of middle aged geezers that would be massacred if they played $50 tourneys or 1/2 cash games on Stars.
That's also the reason why you can hardly find a NL cash game spread in London, where they have these super-deep suckout-friendly Pot-Limit games instead.

The problem with tourneys in London (which might also apply to Bristol) is the lack of mid-size buy-ins. You either find £60 and below tourneys without a dealer or very high stakes events (£250 f/o or £100 rebuy, although £250 rebuy is not unheard of). The biggest size I've played in London was a super-deep stacked £330, which I would compare to a Stars $100, and a few £100, that played like a Stars $50.

I would guess that if your pockets are deep enough there might be great value, as you would probably be facing mostly old-school gamblers that have no clue about elementary concepts such as short-stack play.

Hi! I've never played at the Stanley casino, but if you google 'Bristol Poker Meetup' you'll find a forum where there will be lots of people with the answers to your questions. Im gonna take a guess:

a) Rubbish
b) Rubbish
c) Rubbish
