Party $22, It worked this time, but is it optimal?
Party $22, Blinds 50-100, UTG has T3500, I am SB with T5100, BB has T800 behind.
UTG min raises, folded to me with in SB with J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I decide to just call as I am suspicious of the min raise and the stacks are deep enough that I don't mind taking a flop with this hand. BB goes allin for T700 more, UTG calls (I think, o.k, extremely doubtful he has me beat or will call a push). I push, UTG folds. Thoughts? |

How many people are left? Has UTG min-raised before?
You have 50 BBs. I reraise (to like 650) to isolate the BB and am prepared to let this go if UTG 3-bets. |

Re: Party $22, It worked this time, but is it optimal?
i say calling the initial min raise is fine. once the BB pushes and UTG calls, you should fold. i guess you are thinking that he wouldn't play AA/KK like this, but why not? you said that the UTG min raise looked suspicious to you. and if he does have a big hand and a brain, he's going to flat call the BB push, enticing you to call, rather than reraising to scare you out of the pot. so i don't see how that action makes you MORE confident that you have him beat.
it's too early to play JJ this strongly. |
