Default website designing/marketing

I didn't know where else to post this so I figured it would tie into business...

I am doing a marketing research project and need to find 2 websites: one which uses the Internet effectively to market and another which does not.

I picked Apple for obvious reasons as the effective company, but I am struggling to find an ineffective company.

Thoughts on what all I should be looking for, or any suggestions on sites?

How does apple use the internet to effectively market? I've seen way more TV ads than internet ads.

For an effective company I'd pick someone like NewEgg.

Ok let me rephrase and say that I should also incorporate web site design into the discussion. I chose Apple because its website is very easy to go through, the site map and contact info are on the bottom, but thank you for the newegg suggestion, I may reconsider.

Design and marketing are TOTALLY different. I think you need to figure out which one you're focusing on if you're looking to decide which site is best.

Basically the project is just asking for a company that does not use the internet effectively, whether it be designing, marketing, or both.

I am not sure which one I am going to focus on because I'm still struggling to find a website I hate.
