Default TPNK passive line check

1st orbit at the table. No notes/reads/history on villain, got him at 25/12/3 over a small datamined sample. My thought process is a c-bet is rarely getting called by a worse hand but will frequently get raised by one, forcing me to fold, so I check the flop to keep the pot small and also give him the opportunity to bluff at it. I think the turn is pretty thin, would like to hear some thoughts on the call. Does anyone lead turn? River plan good?

I would generally just bet the flop. It's not one that people bluff raise that often and there is plenty of value to be got from flush draws/pair+gutters.

As played I fold turn.

just c-bet the flop. its your first orbit, no reason to automatically think villian will bluff or semi bluff you. there's a lot of bad cards that can fall on the turn and your hand is too weak to under-represent. check-calling makes things so complicated.

betting is so much better, esp at the beginning of the session.

betting the flop is good, but checking against decent/aggro. opponents has merit too.

hate turn, in that spot i wouldn't call more than half the pot. If you know he is capable of 2 barrels with air of course it's a possible line, but with no reads you can't afford to just guess and hopes he checks the river, very weak line imo. I also lead the flop but your argument is valid that you don't get called often by worse hands, at least in fulltilt ( never played there but heard comments). At Bodog it's an automatic lead for value lol.

Against an unknown, though, I'd bet the flop. Especially since no one at the table will yet have figured out that I'm an ultranit that would check most non-ace hands on that flop.
