Default Cashing a flag in the bellagio poker room

So I have a $5000 bellagio chip that I recieved from a friend. I was just planing on cashing it out next time I played 30-60. Am I going to have a problem? I remember some story being posted here about a guy, in the same situation, having a 5K chip confiscated because he had no proof of ever winning it at any table games.

Most likely it wont be confiscated, it will probably just be a hassle, you can just go to a table game like craps and ask them to break it, and pretend youre going to play, then just leave. This also causes a little bit of a worry, so its better if you actually just bet a little and then either hit and run with like $100 in winnings, or lose $100 and quit cause of bad luck. But it's up to you.

I would not cash that chip even playing 30/60.

That is a very large chip (around 80 big bets at 30/60 which is very large) and a person would not want to get any difficulty cashing it.

Bring it to a table and get it chopped up and play. I remember that $5000 chip story and sometimes its best to learn from others troubles to avoid your own.

Why not have the friend cash it for you, since he should have no problems?

Gotcha T.

PokerBob's idea doesn't sound bad. If you ever got it broken down into small denominations you wouldn't have any issues. It also seems like it would less conspicuous if you walked up to the cage with a few thousand in chips besides just the single flag.

What about talking to a floor person that knows who you are? Maybe they could walk over to the cage with you to get it cashed. Just a thought.

Good luck.

do NOT take it to the main cage; they WILL hassle you there. get it broken down or cashed at the poker room cashier.

Work it up to a flagship or nothing at the craps table.
