[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I know I'm in the minority, but this is why I don't like the onside kick - just adds a pure luckbox factor. [/ QUOTE ] Please. The Bills played that onside kick terribly. [/ QUOTE ] It's a coin flip across the league. [/ QUOTE ] Onside kicks are most certainly not 'coin flips!' [/ QUOTE ] You're saying some teams only allow like 20% of onsides to be recovered and some like 80%? |

Re: MNF Football: Cowboys vs. Bills
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Wow. Horrible coaching on the 2nd to last play allowing the Cowboys to throw the short out of bounds pass. As if everyone in the stadium didn't know that was the only play they could run. WTF? [/ QUOTE ] It's a tough play to defend against [/ QUOTE ] I can't tell if this is a level, but they called a prevent defense. There was no one within 7 yards. [/ QUOTE ] Not a level. Even with a guy on him the offense has a big timing advantage [/ QUOTE ] Wow I thought you were leveling too. There was no guy on him. There should have been two guys on him. Rush 2 if you have to. The Cowboys had only 2 ways to win the game: Short pass to the sideline followed by a FG, or a hail-mary. Giving up the entire middle of the field doesn't hurt at all. |

Re: MNF Football: Cowboys vs. Bills
Yeah you guys are right about that of course. I'm just saying that even with the right call it's a hard play to defend.
That's it . |

Re: MNF Football: Cowboys vs. Bills
[ QUOTE ]
I know I'm in the minority, but this is why I don't like the onside kick - just adds a pure luckbox factor. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, the kickoff is a live ball period, even if you kick it deep. Unlike a punt where it's only live if the receiving team touches it, a kick off is always live, thus it makes sense that the kicking team can recover it. THe 10 yard thing just prevents them from barely kicking it and falling on it. The reason it's not a luckbox play is as follows: 1. It's very hard to kick properly and very easy to defend properly. 90%'ish of onside kicks are recovered by the defense 2. Even if you get the ball, you still have to drive down the field and score something. There are plenty of times the team recovers the kick and still can't do anything with it. |

Re: MNF Football: Cowboys vs. Bills
Why did Stuart Scott just say that half the stadium were Cowboys fans?
