FR - Top two OOP
Should I give this up on the turn? My reasoning here was that if someone had trips, they would raise... Still, my hand is pretty weak

Re: FR - Top two OOP
Hi Roggles - Some other poster on this forum can better advise you about what you should do on the turn.
I just have an observation. Queens and eights is pretty cheesy as top two pairs. Your ace affords some protection, but it's not all that hard for someone to beat your two pairs. What it boils down to is you only really have four outs for the turn (six if you count the two non-spade aces) - and there are five more or less neutral cards (the non-spade deuces and treys). Every other card in the deck, 34 in all, is potentially bad for you on the turn! And even if you make a full house on the turn, someone might end up with a better full house on the river. As it turns out, you get one of your five more or less neutral cards on the turn. But then you still have to run the gauntlet on the river. What should you do on the turn? I don't know. I don't get to the turn. I dump this hand on the flop. Queens and eights as top two pairs be damned. I would check/fold on the flop. Buzz |

Re: FR - Top two OOP
I fold preflop. That said, you bet turn since a set raises you on the flop and no draw was completed.
