Default 22$ - TT Betting into the aggressor

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t60 (7 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

saw flop|saw showdown

Hero (t1880)
CO (t1940)
Button (t6220)
SB (t1480)
BB (t5000)
UTG (t1820)
MP1 (t1660)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls t60, 1 fold, Hero calls t60, 1 fold, Button raises to t180, 2 folds, UTG calls t120, Hero calls t120.

Flop: (t630) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero ?

Let's say we check and the button bets 180. What's our move then. Might a check-raise be a good idea?

depends on reads here.i bet here usually to get some information,we get nothing from checking.if we check and he bets (depending on reads),i would check raise, assuming UTG folds.

He is really aggressive a loves to make bets in unraised pots IP. Showed down a guthsot, and a mid-pair at the showdown after betting the flop.

Doesn't a c/r turn our hand into a bluff? If he calls or reraises, he almost always has you beat and you'll have to completely shut down.

I think b/f and c/c if he makes a weak bet are better options. I'd c/f if he makes any reasonable bet.

I hate a c/r because you're essentially paying way too much for what you can find out with a lead-bet. He will almost only call with better hands so you'll invest a whole lot of chips just to find out where you are. Does he weak bet 180 into a pot of 630 like that?

Given your info, I'd probably try a c/c. If he bets real large I'll fold. I don't like leading here as much without knowing something about UTG. If you told me he was weak passive I'd probably lead, but with nothing on him I'd c/c if UTG folds and it's not a huge bet, then re-evaluate on the turn.

I actually didn't play this hand. I saw this in a SnG Video by a player with a pretty good ROI on 33$-55$ STT's. I found it on his blog. I love to hear that some of you would have lead out on the turn. That's probably what I would've done.

I like c/c as well, but I hate it if I don't know where I am at.

This is how the hand played out (there was no commentary so I don't know the reasoning behind how the hand played out) :
Flop: (t630) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, Button bets t180, UTG folds, Hero raises to t600, Button raises to t1020, Hero calls [t1100] t600, Button calls t680.

Turn: (t2930) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: (t2930) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: t2930

Results in white below:
Hero has Ts Tc (three of a kind, tens).
Button has 7d Ac (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins t2930.

c/c a modest bet on flop if UTG gets out.
If flop is checked thru lead the turn.

c/r is terrible IMO.

Looks like party 22's are about on par with Stars 3.40s.

[censored], I didn't see your post about having a read on him as being very aggressive, showing down mediocre hands, etc.

vs. an unknown or good player I think a c/r is horrible. If he is overly aggressive/bad then I don't think a c/r turns the hand into a bluff any more since you're way ahead of his range and don't plan on folding to further action.
