I understand your skepticism. Let's keep in mind that none of the other posters said that the speeds they attained were as high as their car would go. Also there is always a chance I was going downhill or wind-aided. Here is a picture of a Beretta's speedometer: It looks like straight down would have been about 145, so I'll take 140 if you'll give it to me. |

Re: Fastest You\'ve Ever Driven
120mph in my 2007 BMW 335i. Car still wanted to go, but I gave up. Didn't want to find out what jail the PA State Police would have been prepared to put me under.

Re: Fastest You\'ve Ever Driven
155ish on a CBR600F3
I think I've gone faster in a 1973 Plymouth Road Runner but the speedo stopped at 120. I had it and a 1973 Plymouth Scamp. both of them had 440's with 2-4 Barrell carbs 509 duration cam, hi compression headds etc. I soooooo miss those cars. |

[ QUOTE ] I'm somewhat shocked that mine is one of the fastest ones. I drove 150mph in my ex-girlfriend's 1996 Chevy Beretta in approximately 1997. It was on a rural, divided highway (State Highway 6 between Batesville and Oxford, Mississippi, if anyone knows the area) and at night. The ride was really smooth as silk, and I distinctly remember the sound of the wind whistling. It was great. The weird thing is after you slow back down to 60mph after going that fast, you feel like you're barely moving. (Disclaimer: The car only had 120 or so on the speedomoter, but the needle was past that and pointing directly down, so I'm not absolutely sure how fast we were going.) [/ QUOTE ] Yeah dude, I'm calling BS. Chevey Beretta? 150? Nahhh...look at the other cars in this thread that claim 150+....BMW's, Vettes, Vipers... [/ QUOTE ] My Beretta shook at 170 KMPH...sooooo either my car sucked or yours was incredible. |

Re: Fastest You\'ve Ever Driven
135mph confirmed by GPS on a flat open road outside of Reno a few years ago. This was in a MINI too, lol. It was the perfect opportunity to see how fast that little car would go, and was surprisingly smooth.

Re: Fastest You\'ve Ever Driven
~120 in a 92 ford probe on several occasions, that was about P (MPH at the bottom of the speedo). It's freaky because the governor kicks in. I estimate the speed given the rpms.
~140-145 in a 98 honda prelude. That's between Vegas and LA. This felt much safer. ~150 in a 96 toyota supra. Wasn't driving (my buddy was), and a cop actually ignored us. A blowout would definitely suck at high speed. If you're going fast in a truck, don't. You have a better shot of not rolling in a car. |

Re: Fastest You\'ve Ever Driven
I think I topped out at about 95 mph when I returned a kickoff to win State back in '97. I could've hit triple digits, but my right shoe came off and the field was muddy.
