Little bankroll management question

I know I'm going to receive tons of different responses to this, but how many BBs should you have in your roll before you move up?

I'm thinking somewhere around 500 BBs (for 6 max LHE).

we can make this a 2 part question.

If you move at 500 bb, at what point on your next stakes do you move down if you run bad right when you move up?
say 500bb is 250BB at ur next level, i would move down at about 175 BB what do you think? that still leaves me 350bb at the level I came from.

You want 300-500BB FOR the next level.
I haven't seen any consistent "move back down" suggestions but I'd suggest moving down when:
<ul type="square">[*]You have 300-500BB at the level you'd move back down to.[*]You get uncomfortable with your current stakes.[*] You lose 1/3 (or something) of your bankroll.[/list]

500 BBs is the smallest amount I'd suggest for 6max.

500 is good.

My worst swing was 350BBs when I played 2/4 6 max.
