UB Going out of Business?
Not to falsely alarm anyone, but as you know they have been holding my 10k wire for over 2 weeks now with very very minimal support - and I just read that they no longer have sponsorship from the pros.
Here is a response I finally received from the "Withdrawal" Department: "Dear Sir/Madam , Thank you for contacting us again. We are terribly sorry for the delay. We experienced a problem with a batch of our wire's which caused a delayed in our usual processing time. Note that the batch was quite large and management is having to go through every transaction in order to confirm their completion. Rest assured, this issue is being thoroughly investigated and the transactions are being pushed through to the bank. Unfortunately, due to the volume of transactions involved, and that each must be confirmed individually, this issue is taking some time to resolve, and a definite date cannot be arrived at. We wish to assure you that your funds are secure and that you will receive them. We expect that such an incident will not recur. Again, thank you kindly for extending your patience in this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact us back if you require further assistance or additional information. Best regards, Debbie Withdrawal Support " Discuss |

Re: UB Going out of Business?
UB is the only site that is actually paying me my cashouts right now. I make epass withdrawals once or twice a week, and they alwasy go through in a few hours. I just did 1 yesterday (although I only take out small amounts like 500-1k). Hopefully you will get your money eventually. I have been waiting over a month for a wire from sportsbook.com but it sounds like even they will eventually pay up. UB is prob still one of the safest sites.

Re: UB Going out of Business?
why would UB need to go out of business? No overhead, and if they feel threatened bythe US gov then they could just ban us without going out of business. This makes no sense to me.

"No more sponsership from the pros" is this true? If so thats not a good sign. Can anyone confirm this? Thx

Re: UB Going out of Business?
There are other threads (mostly in the legislation forum) discussing this. UB and AP are ditching most of their pro-spokespersons. Its mostly because, IMHO, they dont need the expense. Growth and competition in the US market is pretty limited right now, and the pros dont help advertising over seas.

Re: UB Going out of Business?
Doesn't appear that the pros stopped sponsoring AP/UB, it looks like AP/UB stopped sponsoring the pros. Here's the news that eGaming Review magazine (egrmagazine.com) had this morning:
"Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet have dropped their sponsorships of poker professionals Michael Mizrachi, Antonio Esfandiari and Mark Seif. The future of two other big names, Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth, also remains in the balance. The players were told the move by Absolute, which owns Ultimate Bet, was down to legal issues and the fear that they might be targeted and arrested by US authorities as the US repression on online gaming firms continues. It is unlikely it presages any exit from the US market by Absolute and is seen as a precautionary step by the company. Interesting news for sure, but I don't think it brings the stability or the liquidity of the sites in question at all. I'm still getting paid like clockwork at both sites, so I'm not concerned. |
