This is not to say that there are no intelligent or well meaning socialists. Simply that they ascribe to a system that has never worked, will never work, and causes more suffering than it intends to fix. You can be smart and still be an idiot.

I am sorry if people who subscribe to idiotic untenable concepts are idiots in my book. Maybe I should use a term like "willfully gullible" or "intentionally misguided". I'm not sure. It just seems easier and more direct to call a person who holds idiotic beliefs ... an idiot. I'm not saying that they could not change and therefore lift the veil of idiocy. I suppose its the old "ignorance can be cured but stupidity is forever"

Instead of voting for the bad choices, why not chose a 3rd party whether it be the green or socialist party of you are a left winger or the constitution or libertarian party if your view are more right of center?

Lets say he didn't raise taxes but decided to spend a higher percantage of govt funds on social programs. Would this be much much worse than the decision to invade Iraq. Also do you think Sweden is a horrible country because of its socialist policies?
