Help! Apartment dilemma
I have what may be a big problem and I'm going to do what any self-respecting person would do: rely on OOT to solve it for me.
background: I used to work full time, but in late February when my company needed to cut payroll, I accepted a cut back to part time and now I only work 2 days a week (basically the only reason I'm still there is for my health insurance and 401K). So I take home like $150 a week and make up the rest of my income playing poker. So the other day I filled out an application to move into a new apartment. They needed copies of pay stubs, so I gave them 2 from when I was working full time in February (in retrospect, this was probably a stupid idea, but what's done is done). So I hand in my application today and the lady says, "these are from February" to which I respond, "oh, I didn't know, I just grabbed 2 for you" (yeah, I'm not the quickest-thinking person ever ). She tells me she needs one from August. I probably need to bring these in by Monday or Tuesday. Since I now make less money in a money in a month than it would cost to rent the place, I can't show her one of those. What should I do? Assuming my boss can't come up with some kind of fake paycheck for me, I can think of a couple of choices: 1. Come totally clean: explain gambling and online poker to her and tell her how I make my money (and also possibly offer to pay a bunch of months in advance) 2. Just tell her that I don't have the stubs and hope that they process my application without it (after all, they still do have 2 pay stubs from me, they're just not current ones). 3. SIIHP. I will try to do this anyway, because she's cute. Do you like one of these choices? Anything else you guys can think of that I'm overlooking?? Help! |

Re: Help! Apartment dilemma
For poker income you can get a letter from a CPA. THey won't proces your app without it.
Otherwise you will need a guarantor |

Offer to pay like 6 months in advance [/ QUOTE ] How would I bring this up? Do you like this as part of the "come clean" approach? |

Re: Help! Apartment dilemma
Don't bring it up at all. Just tell her you've dropped to part time and are freelancing when you show her the paystub. Bring a bank statement. If she's like WTF, be like, look, I make more money now than I did before. I can pay in advance if you want.
Then tell her she's foine NT |
