PS 50/50 very early suspicious raise....what to do?

It's so early in the PS 50/50. At the risk of being weak-tight I can't see him doing this with anything less than AQ but probably with trip 6s.

I hate to let so many chips go but wtf he's gotta have a monster right? He has so many chips that his leverage is what makes me fold, more than the actual bet.

Thoughts?

When you say you can't see him doing "this" with anything less than AQ, do you mean min-raise? He could be min-raising with a lot of hands because the SB and UTG have to call the whole 1k. There's no need for him to raise any more to drive them out of the pot. I would think if he had 66 he would flat call.

Given the situation you're in it's definitely push/fold, as I can't really put him on a flush draw here (where I might consider calling and pushing a non-club turn). This is so dependent on his playing style and the types of As he plays, but I probably jam here and pray (that might be a leak though).

I said this in another post, but (early -1st/2nd level, at a loose table) i'd rather limp AJs from MP, if 1 or more have already limped. I don't think that raising isolates the 1st limper often enough, and when we're called by CO/Button we're in a much tougher spot b/c we don't have position. I think that raising pre with this hand will prob win u more small pots (by isolating and c-betting) more frequently than limping.

The advantages of limping with the intent of trying to win a big pot are:

1. U have a hand that can flop strong hands that can take/like multiway action on the flop, like Pair+FD and FD+gutshot.

2. Being suited enables you to call flops (that u would normally fold) where when u flop 2nd pair+ backdoor draw, or just 2nd pair+overcard.

3. Limping pre eliminates the reverse implied odds associated with playing this hand in big/multiway pots when u flop only TP.

At this early stage, i also like limping hands like 88 and 99 in the same situation as well.

As played, u have to bet the flop, but i wouldn't pot it. 300 should have the same effect, since donks aren't folding FD's anyway. Betting 510 announces TPGK and might even fold weaker aces and hands like QJ as well. I'd only pot this flop into 3 people with AA;QQ;KJcc.

If you're bet/folding this flop then no need to bet 510. Just bet around 300-350 and reevaluate if you get raised.

I think this is a fold, as CO min-raise into 3 players looks like he's afraid of the flush. If he calls, he's giving them 3:1.
