Back in my day we had real video games!
6) Autoduel
5) Pirates (Sid Meier)
4) Neuromancer
3) Contra
2) Gunship (C64)
1) Super Tecmo Bowl (Montana vs Bo Jackson) and it's not even close!

I was gonna list mtrek, but not sure you can call that a video game.

Pirates is the most overrated game of all time.

Followed closely by Halo, of course.

Top 5 (No particular order)

Goldeneye 007 (N64): Probably have spent more hours playing multiplayer and getting all the cheats than any oher game ever.

Super Mario 3 (NES): In my opinion the pinnacle of platforming greatness. The best Mario game ever created.

Zelda II: Link's Awakening (NES): Hear me out before everyone bashes me! I can see why the game turned people off, it was such a drastic change from the first one. The exploration, the great combat, the scale of a lot of the bad guys, it all adds up to the most underrated game in history. I've seen this on many underrated lists, and also heard it called one of the worst Zeldas. Nothing will ever change my mind about its greatness and all I'd ask is that people beat the game and not hate on it just cause it wasn't like Zelda I.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) I played this version more than the other two, I just simply loved it. San Andreas wasn't hard enough so Vice City takes the cake.

Tecmo Super Bowl 2 (NES): Sports games have never been able to replace the sheer fun that was the Tecmo football series.

Honorable mention: Mario Kart series (loved em all), Mario RPG series, 64 Zeldas, God of War.

Maybe, but I rocked my Caribbean geography tests in High School! Of course, when the teacher asked "Where did you come up with 'Tortuga'" I had to bitch-slap her. WTF??!!

In no particular order:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game is just an experience.

Final Fantasy Tactics. Stuck on an island and can only have one game? This is it.

Final Fantasy (insert # here). Gaming excellence.

Super Mario World. 16 bit gaming goodness. By far the best of the series imo.

Resident Evil 4. Revamped the best of the survival horror franchies for the better. Hopefully all future RE's are based on this model.

Sentimental Favorite: Smash TV. Most bullets, most kills, most carnage in a video game. Ever.

It's fascinating how many of these games I recognize and agree with. I say this because I haven't played video games seriously in about 8 years and I would say a majority of the games mentioned are from back when I was a gamer. I guess things are always better in hindsight.

I'm a huge rpg fan and was introduced to the genre by Dragon Warrior 2 and the original Final Fantasy. I think FF2 for the Super Nintendo was my favorite. That was just about everything I think an rpg should be. I know the later ones have better graphics and longer stories but the second one just worked for what it was.

Golden Eye is definitely on this list. I very well may have spent more time on this game than any other. I rented the game from blockbuster every weekend for like 3 months before I finally bought it.

As far as multi player games go I'm surprised no one has mentioned Super Bomber Man. I know the game was never huge but it was probably the best party/multi player game I've played. The one oddity was each sequel got progressively worse: the first was great, the second almost as good, Bomberman 64 got old fast, and then they made another one that didn't even have a multiplayer mode. Pretty stupid.

Super Mario 3, Super Mario World, and Mario 64 were all games I dedicated countless hours to. It's hard to pick a favorite.

Warcraft2. This game did so much so well that it's hard to appreciate it. This is was the first time I every played with a friend (we connected through a modem). We also played with a lan network at my school (the guy who ran the computer lab was really cool). It was the first time I ever played a live multiplayer game with a bunch of people. It's so commonplace today we should remember where it got started.

I'm long-winded. I"m sorry.
