Default MBA Recommendation Question

Quick MBA Application Question:

Does it matter if I do not waive my right to access my recommendations when applying to schools?

Why would you want to? Can't you just ask your recommender what he/she said about you?

The way you phrase the question confuses the hell out of me. Basically you want to have access to your recommendation letters prior to sending them out. There's nothing worse than thinking you have a solid recommendation from a professor or whatever, only to find out later that the letter sucked and actually ended up hurting you. This applies to any school/job where recommendation letters are a key part of the application process. Even if you know the person has nothing but good stuff to say you really want to make sure the letter looks and reads good. It's amazing how some of the smartest people out there have the writing skills of a twelve year old.

I was just curious if answering one way or the other would have any positive or negative impact on the application.
