I'm just an intern, so I really just surf 2+2 all day and randomly ask my bosses what they need help with so it looks like I'm attentive and self-motivating. This project manager that sits behind me always goes back and forth from my desk to go to the copier, and every time she passes me she can see my computer, so I always minimize the 2+2 screen so that one of the budgets I'm "working on" is up. This last time, she stopped at my desk, and was like, "ok, I know there's not much for you to do, but you don't have to close the internet every time I walk by. I know what you're doing."

[censored]. Hopefully she doesn't say anything to the bossman bossman. I'm not rolled for life via poker.

It's funny you mention this.

I'm also a student worker, and there is a female student also in my room. Everytime I walk into the office, she thinks it could be the boss so she minimizes the screen. It looks so retarded because then it's obvious that you're hiding something.

So I tell her this: don't minimize it, because it just looks even worse. If you can't hear your boss walk in, at that point, you just leave the page open and act like nothing is wrong bcause you're on break. Thats what I always do and seems to work fine.

It only gets suspicious if he catches me more then twice a day but thankfully his pockets are always full of change so you can hear him coming.
