KJs from BB
One of the first hands at the table, so no reads on villains
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 raises, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 3 folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (8.40 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 bets, MP3 calls, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 3-bets, MP3 folds, Hero caps, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls. Here I assume I'm ahead and go for a c/r. I cap this because UTG+2 could easily 3-bet the flop with TPTK or overpair. Turn: (10.70 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, UTG+1 raises a half BB and is all-in , UTG+2 raises to the other half, Hero ?. UTG+2 still raising worries me. I think he could have a set but TPTK or overpair are still possible so I think I should call down. Is it right to call this down or should I consider 3-betting the turn? |

Re: KJs from BB
Just call down and hope that the river isn't an A, 7, or 5

Re: KJs from BB
I think this is close, but there are only 2 combinations of KK and JJ that your opponent could have that beat you.
I think that I would 3-bet the turn and call down to a cap. |

Re: KJs from BB
Think of what you're beating and what you're losing to and figure out how likely each is.
you're losing to KK(on combo) JJ(one combo) and 77(three combos), tied w/ KJ (4ways), beating K7(unlikely to be raised pf same for J7) AA(6ways) and AK(16ways). Because this is a first few hands, I might raise, thinking AK is the most likely holding followed by AA, both of which you beat, and against an unknown most .25/.50 players (who aren't extremely passive) will play TPTK, or AA as an overpair aggressively if the only things that can beat them are 2pair or a set. I like the raise here and if you get capped check calling the river. |

Re: KJs from BB
Pretty easy 3-bet to me. AK, AA, and even KQ/QJ are more possible hands than 55 or 77. 77 would be the hand I'm most worried about, but again, I think UTG+2 is going to flip over AK AA KQ QJ KJ more times (obviously) than 77 which makes your 3-bet ok. If it's capped, just check/call the river.

grunch
Without reads I would call down from the turn raise. If you had a read he is overly aggressive wtih top pair or he's a maniac I'd 3 bet it. |

Re: KJs from BB
Since you have a jack and king, I would 3bet, hoping villain is overplaying AK/AA.
