I was in Italy in Febuary 2006. I was able to play on party poker just fine... I was in Rome, Florence and Venice and was able to log on in all three cities.

If you have a home computer set up a SSHv2 session and tunnel back to it, then connect out to the site it should use ya routed SSHV2 link instead of ISP link.

you can also get cell phone internet with a good plan and do it from there without the lag of remote desktop.
