tough decision here. if i'm behind i don't have many outs. if i just call here i'll probably have to call a bigger bet on the river. if i 3bet i'll allow him to fold worse hands and call with better ones.

i can't really put him on a set here, the only thing i beat is AJ with As or J9. can i really put him on trip 5's or the flush here?

(1) minraise is a sign of strength
(2) feels too weak to fold here with overpair HU getting 5-1 immediate
(3) checking turn doesn't feel right either

help?

He either has you crushed or he has a Jack and wants a cheap river showdown. I'd call his minraise and probably fold to a river push.

Jx X[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is about the only possibility I can imagine doing this. These are tough situations cause the odds are so attractive. The 5 sucks as a paired card though cause if he's got JJ or 99 you're smoked to two outs, not four vs. the flush.

I probably call and would call a small river bet, but if he bets big then you're pretty much done for.

Spike an Ace on the river so that none of this matters...

I have not read the thread or replies but the correct answer is push or call, whichever is applicable.

Edit: I read the thread, title misleading. Call.

I think $8 pre is fine, you want a caller. I like the call turn line and call small river bet. Seems to me like he wants to slow you down and get a cheap showdown.

Am I wrong in thinking this turn bet should have been for more, therefore making our turn decision easier?

Also on this board maybe the flop bet should be a little bigger too?

thanks for the responses guys

i think the turn odds are just too attractive to fold right there with such a strong hand HU, even though the board and the minraise suggest that i am way behind and have few outs

i called the turn bet, planning to reevaluate on the river.
river brought the Ks so the board is now

J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]k [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i checked and folded to his all in
