the volume in my left earphone has decreased by about half. I tried cleaning it using the cleaning tool, didn't help and there's nothing blocking the canal. anyone else have this problem?

Don't Shures have pretty good warrenty? If this is a problem with the earbuds, I'd say go exchange them. Otherwise, check that the jack is plugged all the way in.
