Dude, approach this rationally. How many K hands have you played, are you in the USA, what limits, etc. Going pro is very serious and you'll need 6 months savings for expenses at your desired lifestyle. You'll really need to know if you are both good (emotionally and game wise). Don't just fall into it. If you haven't played well over 100k hands, you may not even be a winning player. GL

oh, by NO means am I quitting my job! LOL I think you guys have the wrong impression. First off, it was only a question.
to answer yours, I'm NOT even thinking of trying to be a pro. I am winning, but not high enough stakes to sustain the lifestyle I choose when and IF I do make that decision.
I'm currently making around $100/hr in the smaller games bc I know I can and do crush them. I make less than that from my day job and this is more or less a hobby.
I've got 3 months living expenses in savings (investment fund). So that isn't immediately available, but I could get a hold of it if needed.
I've played roughly 1.5M hands and I'm up overall. The last 500k have been where I'm really trying to be the best student of this game I can be.
I think that you all think that I want to take a shot. I don't! I really just want to retire and live off of some other investments. I don't see myself as a "pro," but still a pro. Think Jerry Buss or Larry Flynt (except I don't make porn) only not to that extent.

I see poker as a huge challenge. One of my first challenges was a Rubix cube when I was little. They've only grown bigger since.

And what's this Salazar thing? I don't get it.

you'll have to browse for the salazar thing.
1.5m hands! Congrats. Try moving up and taking shots. You may be better than you think. Post PT shot. How many BB/100?

thanks. what's a PT shot? If the 5/10 NL game came together I'd sit, but I haven't heard of that game running in months.

I think you think I'm an online player. I'm not. I play only live.

I'm going to Vegas in June for the side games at the WSOP as the tourists will be fresh and have lots of Omega-3s. :-P

I'm not sure exactly what the BB/100 is, but I'll take a look at my notes tonight and get back to you.

cwar, I'd love to be a "pro," don't get me wrong. I'd love to sit and rape the likes of Chan and Brunson, Harmon and Kid Poker. But I'm gonna be real, just to sit there and watch would be more than I could dream of in retirement.

There's NO WAYYYYYYYY you've played 1.5 million hands live. Impossible! So there is some confusion here.
