Default Another scam example FTP

While playing today the Full Tilt $163 tournament, suddenly the following message appeared in the chat screen:

____

Dealer: FullTilt Poker giveaway $50,000 today.
The first two players from this table who visit the
website http://50k-fulltiltpoker.com/ will be
awarded with $25,000 . Admin : Chris Ferguson

___

Of course since I know Chris is a really nice guy, I went to the site to claim my 25k, I was one of the 2 lucky ones !!!!!!, but they asked my player ID and password in the site and I have a thing about my password, I just don't like people asking about it, it's just not worth the 25k, so I let it go.

Of course I went back and scroll the message in the chat screen only to find just 2 lines before the message:

voxon (Observer):
========================================

How disappointing, WTF, it's Christmas, how can anyone try to scam in Christmas time

So, I did a whois of the site and found the following info, most probably false, but just in case:

Domain Name.......... 50k-fulltiltpoker.com
Creation Date........ 2006-12-27
Registration Date.... 2006-12-27
Expiry Date.......... 2007-12-27
Organisation Name.... paul Callahan
Organisation Address. P O Box 99800
Organisation Address.
Organisation Address. EmeryVille
Organisation Address. 94662
Organisation Address. CA
Organisation Address. US

I guess we just have to deal with scams like this one, until the sites don't allow "ghost" accounts and start asking for ID when opening an account. Not holding my breath.

Good thing they weren't smart enough to say $10 or $25 because I'm sure many people would fall for it

If full tilt really is having this hard of a time figuring out how to stop stuff like this couldn't they just ban the word dealer for a little while until they come up with something legit

Full Tilt has needed to remove railbird chat for a long time. It's as easy as only allowing railbird chat at tables with red players. This way players can heckle the pros but the spammers will not be able to do this. It is hard to believe Full Tilt has refused to do something so simple to help protect their fish. The spam there has been endless for about a year.

Virtually every other room has removed railbird chat completely.
