We're still ahead of AK/AA, but the primary reason we call turn is so we don't get 4-bet on the turn, and when we hit our flush on the river we can get in a sweet c/r.

Ya, I didn't even read well slash see the club draw. Its closer, but same play applies.

call the turn raise. checkraise a 5 or a club on the river. bet the river on all other cards except a 8 or king/ace

my buddy who sweated me this hand said i shoulda 3bet. i agree with scary tiger. that was exactally what i was thinking.i did just call, the river was the 8. it went check check and chopped when he showed QJ.

your buddy hates dollars.

the only reason to ever 3bet here is if this guy could ever fold a hand with outs, like AA, AK, KJ, KT. but he cannot ever fold those, so 3betting is a major error.

Bug, why don't you like his flop play. Do you think it is too much action agaisnt that board or he should be waiting to pop turn

Sam,

You are rarely ahead here. I dont who villain is, but when you bet/3 the pf raiser then he pops the turn you are always looking at a set or KQ. If thats the case you dont have the equity to make a 3 bet profitable here and will be 4-bet alot.
