Re: Advanced Limit Holdem Strategy by Barry Tanenbaum
All of these guys are quality poker writers. There's really no reason to choose one or the other. Read them all.

I have also had the opportunity to meet and talk with Mr. Tannenbaum. I would purchase any book he writes.

I would purchase any book he writes. [/ QUOTE ] Me too. Barry worked with Lee Jones on the 3rd edition of Lee's book, and it was much improved from earlier editions. |

[/ QUOTE ] Boy has this forum changed. 1 year ago people would be chuckling if someone said anything positive about lee Jone's book even the third edition, although everyone agrees its better than the prior two) - instead advising the poster to read Small Stakes Hold'em (the bible on how to play low limit loose and passive Hold'em games). |

Re: Advanced Limit Holdem Strategy by Barry Tanenbaum
Barry is a close friend of mine so I may be a little biased. But I've been coached by him, sweated him, played with him and had many long discussions about poker with him, so I don't think my affection for Barry clouds my thinking. Here's my opinion. Barry is a superb player, coach, writer and thinker. If his book is anything like his coaching sessions, and I'm sure it will be, you will make money from reading it and applying what he teaches.

Greywolf - A Barry shorthanded book, I find that odd (but I am glad he is doing it). Whats his experience, where is he putting in the hours to play short?

[/ QUOTE ] I believe Barry plays a lot of short-handed and heads up hold'em online. You might send him an e-mail and ask him yourself. I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you. |

Re: Advanced Limit Holdem Strategy by Barry Tanenbaum
He is listed as a Collaborator to the 2 main authors on the short handed book. Looks like he has a similar role to Ed Miller's on Professional No-Limit.
I very much enjoy Barry's Card Player articles. |

Re: Advanced Limit Holdem Strategy by Barry Tanenbaum
IT seems every one but grey wolf is off the mark here.
Barry does play 60 120 at the Bellagio but has cut back his hours severly over the last few months. although I have seen him out and about more often lately I dont think he's playing 5 nights at this time. Now I dont know personally for sure but I think the 2 BB/ hour statment is off the mark as well. Multi tableing 30-60 heads up online and heads up S&Gs are his forte' from what I gather from discussions we have had. more on his book at his site. timmer |
