Re: JJ v HAAANH
given history i think it was played well I think you need to show that you can 3bet a wide range for value on a board like that to be comfortably 3bet bluff in same spot.

[ QUOTE ] fwiw, ive been 3betting him a bunch when i was in position. pretty infrequently oop. [/ QUOTE ] Your opponents, even very good ones, aren't 1/4th as aware about this as you are. You have to 3bet preflop here. Flop is okay. [/ QUOTE ] really? like 100% of the time? why? i can think of a couple reasons that argue for calling here, though i do mostly 3bet it. |

Re: JJ v HAAANH
i almost never 3-bet pre here to a utg1 open, him opening the CO would make it much diff. when i say almost never i prob mean i 3-bet about 20% of the time.
as played, i don't donk much and it's not a huge part of my game, but in general i would just CR pretty big and bomb almost all turns, almost always stacking 99-66, sometimes getting air to 3-bet you or float you, and giving a FD a chance to stick it in. if i did donk, i'd flat the raise. i think his raise/ stack off range is more QQ/Tx+ than it is 99-66 for damn sure |

[/ QUOTE ] I actually thought he was in the CO, but still, I think a 3bet is best vs. a good LAG. This isn't a spot where you need to mix up your play with JJ. If you want to call in the name of mixing up your play or strength concealing deception, I think those are bad reasons. If your opponent is opening very tight, or is only calling/playing back at your 3bets with monsters, that is a good reason to flat call. Were your reasons different than these? |

Re: JJ v HAAANH
I don't think its the best line. Given history I think a c/r will get him to commit more lightly, or just call the flop raise and c/r the turn.

Re: JJ v HAAANH
i think this is fine if you guys are playing each other weird - any pair is the nuts and i think you stack his 66-99 with this line. If you just call, he checks behind turn with those hands and you def miss a ton of value you could get from this line.

Given history I don't think he'd have 66-99 that often

Re: JJ v HAAANH
i think this is retarded, dont take it personally.
first, if he stacks off with small pairs preflop you definatly want to 3-bet this. second with this line i doubt you get it in very good. best case scenario is he has a flushdraw with 1 or 2 overcards. |

Re: JJ v HAAANH
I really hate this too. You're basically turning JJ into a bluff here. Also, I really don't think you have to reraise JJ here 100% of the time. I respect your opinion though so please give reasons to why you don't need to balance your play here.
