Re: AC decline continues...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Borgata hasn't had losing months until just recently. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting use of "losing months". Maybe "less profitable" would be more appropriate, unless you are stating that they actually lost money. Since the revenue drop AC-wide seems to be in slots (table games went up), maybe the availability of slots elsewhere is hurting AC. Or maybe the higher gas prices have kept the slot-nicks home. [/ QUOTE ] Gas prices here are actually among the lowest in the country. It's probably just the new PA slot parlors with a little bit of the smoking ban. |

Re: AC decline continues...
Revenues fell last month too. Facts, not the sky is falling. YTD for AC as a whole is down as well. 7 out of 8 months declined. Pinnacle is trying to get out of their commitment to build a casino where the Sands stood, blaming a pending favorable rezoning for Wynn. This declining revenue will impact poker eventually as casinos try to up their bottom lines. MGM and Foxwoods canned a plan for a joint casino in AC and decided to build elsewhere.

Re: AC decline continues...
Yonkers recently opened a large slot adjunct to the racetrack. This has and will siphon off a lot of NYC slot players.
