He should take it as a compliment. It's probably because people knew more than one Canadian city and just went with a bigger city. Or did they go with Canada City?

When I lived in Vegas with all American guys, I was surprised at how few of the provinces they could name.

I'm not overly judgemental about it, because I don't have great knowledge of US geography. It's better than most American's knowledge of Canada geography, but we are bombarded with you country though television.

Anyway, the capital of Canada is Ottawa. The capital of Ontario is Toronto. They are both in Ontario. Ontario is a province of Canada. The biggest province, population and geographically.
