Re: Breaking news in Medical field
[ QUOTE ]
a report in Australia found that 25% of the people who sent dna samples to some DNA testing company found that they were NOT the father. wonder what will the % be in US. [/ QUOTE ] So you're saying 3/4ths of men who think their kid isn't their's are just being paranoid? Cause obviously you're smart enough to know people wont go through the trouble/cost/invasion of privacy of sending in their DNA and that of their kids unless they really want this done, and they wouldn't really want this done unless they had real doubts about their paternity so the 25% figure doesn't at all speak to the number of fathers being "tricked" but rather to the fact that most people who do think they are being tricked, aren't. For the record, I think the take home DNA test is pretty damn cool, and will prove really useful in saving a lot of people in need of paternity tests time and money. I just also think that OP is dumb and sexist and anyone who believes 1 in 10 fathers isn't the real father of their kid is equally unqualified to ever have children of their own or raise someone else's. |

Re: Breaking news in Medical field
Haha, you are paying 30 dollars for cotton swabs that you send for testing. While this may be a new venue to get a DNA test it is essentially exactly the same as going to get one done in a private lab, which has been an available option before. Hopefully it's cheaper since it is somewhat more convienient I guess.

Re: Breaking news in Medical field
I think it's a great idea, some of you poor men have been taken for fools.
Along the lines of the judge making the non-father continue paying, here's what happened to me: I put my daughters fathers name on birth certificate, he signed paperwork that she was his and then we filed for court ordered child support when she was about 8 months old. The courts in California finally saw the case and approved it when she was FIVE. I figured cool, I get five years of back child support. Nope. The order was in effect for the date of the court hearing and beyond, not the past. He got out of five years of child support because the family courts in LA area were too booked/overcrowded and I didn't have a lawyer. Sucked then. Now I get court ordered for another 3 years, but what I get each month is just enough to cover her braces monthly payment. T |

[/ QUOTE ] Being as I said I could believe it and I find myself intelligent and plan to have kids some day, I'm going to ask you for the correlation here. Why am I unqualified to have children because I happen to think it is possible that in our world of guys pounding as much poon as they can and selfish girls trying to get money that the number sounds close to reasonable? I find your comment to be both unfounded and silly. I'd like for you to give me a reason to think otherwise KneeCo. |
