The quality of the replies is low.

This is a good tough laydown. If villain's 3betting range is light, then here's some info:

Board: Ts 9h 4s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 48.815% 47.98% 00.84% 27074 472.50 { JhJs }
Hand 1: 51.185% 50.35% 00.84% 28411 472.50 { 99+, AQs+, AQo+ }

I disagree with your range, eBo. Villain is never making this minimal raise with a hand like TT. He'd probably raise more, or flatcall with a hand like this. IMO, his range for this move is JJ+. There is a very very slim chance of AK.

The implied odds may not be huge, but they are certainly there. If we spike our j, and he has kk or aa, he is prolly going to the felt, and happy to get his $ in the middle when he is a huge dog.

YES, it would be better if we had more $ behind to win, but we have to make a choice. I think it was a good play, but i usually go 'overpair, lets shove' which often lets me stack the top pair, but get stacked to the overpair.

THis is an interesting line, bond has done it a couple of times, and i think i may add it to my repoitoir!

I'm not folding

I think AK is certainly in his range but I'm not sure about AQ. Even if it is that leaves 2 possible hands in his range I'm ahead of and everything else I'm getting crushed by unless he made a fairly unusual reraise preflop which is certainly possible given his PT numbers.

If I had not seen the 2 hands he showed down I would have looked at his PT numbers and check/shoved the flop.

Later on I sharkscoped him and he's 9th on the leaderboard for >3 tables $2.50 to $5 so at least I know he's not a random donk.
