Re: Neteller hacked what can I do?
My dear poker friends,
I have a huge suggestion for you all: Please do not click on links in emails which tell you to re-active your account or anywhere where they ask your password. Also use a good spam filter or otherwise use some webbased mail like gmail.com CAUTION: even if you have a filter some of the phising mails will still come through!! People can easily make an email appear to be coming from another address so be very careful with mail! |

Re: Neteller hacked what can I do?
I never click on links in emails, I always type in the URL of the site. A common way to fake a site is to use a % sign instead of a / after the .com in the URL. I got one of these recently only it was supposedly from my bank! The email said it was suspended and i had to verify my information. I went to the banks home webpage and logged in, worked fine.
I kinda wanted to click the link and enter [censored] off! as my username and password. |

Re: Neteller hacked what can I do?
OP, did you click on the link in the email from neteller about your account being frozen and entered in your account info? Am I reading that right?
Guys, in addition to running a secure network, you should: 1) Open a checking/savings account for poker ONLY! Do not use this account for anything else. 2) Tell the bank you DO NOT want overdraft protection on your checking account. 3) Transfer almost your whole BR to savings 4) Link your checking account to neteller 5) Keep a very nominal amount of cash in checking/neteller. Always keep the bulk in savings. This way, your only exposure is what is in your checking/neteller. A hacker can't get to what is in your savings via neteller. |
