Re: The rule and ettiquitte on asking to see mucked cards at showdown?
If you are asked to show your hand and you instantly slide them under the muck, what are the consequences?

If you are asked to show your hand and you instantly slide them under the muck, what are the consequences? [/ QUOTE ] None really, but the dealer should have the muck protected so you can't do this. |

It's bad etiquette. Let them lose in peace. Leave or find another table if you suspect collusion.

Re: The rule and ettiquitte on asking to see mucked cards at showdown?
it really bugs me when someone continually bluffs, gets called, loses and insta mucks and you have no idea whether they had a weak pair of busted draw or nothing

Re: The rule and ettiquitte on asking to see mucked cards at showdown?

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] rules says that if you show one card anyone can ask to see the second one and the dealer should enforce this if asked. [/ QUOTE ] Now THAT is a rare and moronic rule. [/ QUOTE ] Not so rare anymore. Before the WSOP this year Harrah's ran around poker room to poker room in Vegas to "standardize" a few things and one of those was the enforcement of this new (I think it's new) rule. Show one show both is the rule of the land in Harrah's casinos (last I checked...haven't seen this actually enforced in a while). [/ QUOTE ] Do you mean this for a hand that is eligible for showdown or a hand where a player didn't have to show any cards (i.e. everyone folded to a bet) and he shows one out of courtesy? |

[/ QUOTE ] This is simply unbelievable to me. I'm really not sure how I would react if this happened to me but I'm guessing it wouldn't be a good scene. I can tell you I would have a million questions. Like if the pot is pushed to me because everyone folded and I exposed one card and was forced to expose the other, what if I don't? Do you take the pot away from me? Kick me out? Does this apply preflop? I 3-bet and get folds and flash a deuce, do I have to show my 9 as well? What if I don't? That's the craziest thing I've heard. We seem to be going backwards if this becomes popular. |
