I personally think that you are limiting yourself in profit. If you only buy-in for 10BB then you cannot maximize on your really good hands. Basically it sounds like you are taking the strategy out of the game with this method. If you can't play post flop well then you just push, and playing with only a short stack forces you to either fold or push. There is no "playing poker", just 2 decisions. I personally don't like this strategy, but some people may make it work. It just doesn't seem like playing poker to me.

Looks to me like it is designed to force you to play less hands by making it push-fold. Why not buy in full and play the same conservative strategy as the shortstack strategy. You will still minimize your losses but allow you to maximize the profit of your premium hands.

Nothing makes me more sick than to buy in full and take a beat for half my stack, not have time to reload, and pick up a premium hand.

I cannot imagine this being a winning strategy, however a losing player may be able to minimize their losses by playing this way.

Would it not make you sick to have A A and have a push of more than the max buy-in and you can only call a small portion of his bet. I also raise shortstackers way wider than a full stack because you are not really a threat to my stack.

Yes you can make money short stacking. Some say you can make more money. Someone with second pair might be more likely to just "push you off your hand" and you call and get more than you would have (more likely in small stakes). Personally I do it because the local B&M cassinos around here have a 1/2NL with a max/min buy in of $100. I have kind of gotten use to starting short and working my way up. Also learning how to short stack effeciently online has really helped my live game (and it cost me less while I was learning). And the last reason to short stack is so you realize what situations shortstackers are looking for. This way you dont lose half of your stack when you are up against one.
