lol, for soundtracks I'd hand it to John Williams every time. Maybe Howard Shore for Lord of the Rings.

Edit: wow, thanks for posting the Pavarotti - beautiful. I've heard it before and always loved it.

Agreed, so many great pieces.

This is a favorite.

Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E, 3rd movement.

I love to watch it being preformed.

Yes!

Mrs U, Mendelssohn did another violin concerto that I'm trying to remember. Not the Godfather one...

This is pretty incredible.

What Godfather one is that Tigermoth?

Tonding, thanks again for posting Nessun Dorma - I've been listening/watching it all day, seriously. Powerful.

Can you recommend anything that I'd like based on the fact that I loved Nessun Dorma?

Also, I recently heard Viotti's Concerto for Violin No 4 in D on the classical radio station here in NY. That was actually the reason I made this thread, I was trying to find out what it was, but before anyone answered I figured out that the station has a playlist and I found it that way...A few edits later, this thread existed. BUT anywho, anyone know if this is on youtube or anything like that? I've been searching but can't find it. Also cannot find it at any of the various downloading programs.

being a guitar nut, I always liked the 2nd movement of the concierto de aranjuez -

it's over the youtube time limit but this'll get ya close - starts about a minute in -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvmdi...ed&search= -

several versions on youtube - this seemed to be one of the best - it requires near virtuso work on the guitar as it sorta has a dialogue between that and other classical instruments

I'm liking the Verdi a lot. Sempre Libera was good. And La donna e mobile I'd heard before and was about to ask about, definitly gonna put that on this classical music CD I'm gonna burn.

Gabriel's Oboe

O Nata Lux (ignore the video)

I can't find a satisfactory Clair de Lune or any other of the choral pieces I really like, but those are two of my favorites.
