Default 50NL: Question about c-betting shortstacks

Note stack sizes of both villains. Do you normally proceed with your regular c-bet against these players? Is calling their (inevitable) shove spew?

Both hands, calling is spew imo. You don't have a hand, and the odds given to you are not good enough to try and draw to top pair.

I generally don't cbet when villain has <10BB in his stack, but when I do cbet a short stack, I like a slightly smaller cbet.

Hand 1: I cbet $2.25 and fold to a raise.

Hand 2: Check/fold flop.

I think hand 2 is fine. They fold most of the time, and if not I think the odds are okay for a 6 outer. On top of that they don't even always have a pair when they do this, but that could be more villain dependant.

No problem with either except calling push. First one is standard except that. In the second hald this is a board you are more likely to get shoved on, I'm torn on c-betting and checking and it really sucks to be OOP. Hard to give up on a big hand and just c/f... I think c-bet is fine. You need to of course fold to both pushes.

You're calling $6 in a $16 pot (~2.7 to 1). I don't think 6 outs gives you any +EV. Not to mention any K could complete a SD (less likely) and Ad or Kd could complete a flush draw (more likely). You can probably discount this to 4-5 outs. -EV imo.

Is calling in #1 that bad? I feel like A high is going to be the best hand there a lot and it's basically a min raise? I think I am calling to often in these spots though.

I call hand 1 all day without a read. You have A high, you're getting over 3:1, and most shorties doesn't have a hand more than half the time on a board that dry.
Hand 2 I can check/fold. That board smacks any bad shortstacker's range hard.

hand 1, I bet less, like ~$2, and fold to raise, unless I am convinced that villain will shove with air here. Also, I fold PF AT, but maybe I'm a nit.

hand 2, I am more willing to call against any villain who is not playing 18/13 type game... Many villains here are raising draws or overcards since there was no paint on the board and they feel they need to double up.
Actually, in hand 2, I probably bet pot on the flop against a non nit and call a shove. But really this would be read dependant, many players at these stakes go nuts when they're very short

Seems like the responses are pretty divided. I guess nobody knows how to handle these situations.

I like c-betting in both hands because I think I still get folds a lot. In the first hand I think calling is okay. The second hand, maybe I should fold.
