Questions concerning big pairs in preflop hand selection
I get into these situations all the time and I'm not sure if I should be playing these cards at all.
Seat 1: chrispaok ($183.20 in chips) Seat 2: Satrk ($102.60 in chips) Seat 3: atuerke ($112.95 in chips) Seat 4: Zefa ($113.70 in chips) Seat 5: sekme ($96.80 in chips) Seat 6: mahareta ($28.90 in chips) Satrk: posts small blind $0.50 atuerke: posts big blind $1 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Zefa [5c 2s Qd Qs] Hands like these. A pair of queens with a suit under the gun. Should I just be open folding this? Should I limp call if someone behind me raises? What if it was QQ52 double suited. POKERSTARS GAME #12716507985: OMAHA POT LIMIT ($0.50/$1.00) - 2007/10/19 - 08:49:13 (ET) Table 'Eucharis' 6-max Seat #3 is the button Seat 1: Satrk ($213.60 in chips) Seat 2: sekme ($103.90 in chips) Seat 3: boubouge ($40.10 in chips) Seat 4: Billy_Mack34 ($84.05 in chips) Seat 5: Zefa ($342.20 in chips) Seat 6: Eiretree ($100.05 in chips) Billy_Mack34: posts small blind $0.50 Zefa: posts big blind $1 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Zefa [Kd 4c Ks 2d] Eiretree: raises $2.50 to $3.50 Satrk: calls $3.50 sekme: folds boubouge: calls $3.50 Billy_Mack34: folds Zefa: calls $2.50 Is there any value calling here with KK24 1 suit out of position? Their raising range is wide but I'm not sure if I can extract much value in hitting my set when I'm out of position and KK24 doesn't exactly flop too well. Still... I'm getting about 5 to 1 to call here so I'm not sure. |
