Negreanu to Matusow on TOC last year when Sexton calls Matusow's three consecutive bluffs on every street with mid pair I believe...After Sexton calls the river bluff, he flips over his cards. That's when Negreanu leans over to look at the board, then he looks at Sexton's cards and starts laughing hysterically. He then looks over at Matusow and says, "You got PWNED!!!", that was classic...

Remember that Tony G is Lithuanian, and Perry is a Russian. I got the impression that Tony was playing out some deep tribal resentment over being raised in a country that was occupied by the Russians.

He's usually much more gracious than either Hellmuth or Matusow IMO.

Interesting. I thought Tong G's comments racist and this would explain the animus.

It's funny, when he was at the same table as ferguson, ivey and matusow, he wasn't boisterous at all, he was pretty cordial. Maybe he didn't think he could get in their heads.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe, he thought they would take all his chips off him.

Some of my personal favorites

HSP season 1 - Sheiky is being his usual douchebag self, Sammy goes, "...Who told Sean about this game? Really - let's take a vote" - even made Greenstein laugh.

2003 WSOP "I'm so hot right now I can't put my ciggarette in my mouth, it might light and there is no smoking here." - bad paraphrase

Greenstein, towards Sammy and Eli "Didn't Israel just bomb Lebanon?"

Sammy towards Townsend on HSP after he gave off an obvious tell, "You really don't belong here."

phil Helmuth, "Buddy I'm the 9 time WSOP champion." - I can't remember the context, but it was badass.

Ooh, also, this one will be roughly paraphrased

Matusow: They asked me if I was stranded on an island, who would I want with me, I said, "Daniel Negreanu, cause we'd have a LOT OF FUN!"
Esfandiari: Do you know how gay that sounds?

looking at Tony G on video, he strikes me as a horribly insecure person.

anybody have a video of him getting his just desserts?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, "just" would be someone knocking him out flat cold, but he was at least on the receiving end of a rather toxic dissing from Devilfish Ulliot in the International Poker Challenge.

The context was that Tony G had played rather bad but lucked out several times, grabbing the chip-lead from Devilfish. So instead of showing some humility after his ugly suck-outs, he started shouting off, completely in character: "Who's the table captain now, Devilfish? Who's the captain now?"

Devilfish was steaming enough you could almost see the smoke coming out of his ears, but he kept cool as he said:

"You're the captain, Tony... You're the captain of the Titanic."

Oh, forgot: Devilfish also trash-talked Tony G a *lot* on the William Hill Grand Prix, Season II, heat 1.

Quite enjoyable, even though I can hardly say I'm a big fan of the sleazeball Ulliot.
