Default NL50: 3 street bluff

No stats or history. I assume he is your average donkey. This is my first couple rotations around the table. This would be a pretty standard flush or boat line for me.

SB ($50.60)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Those bets look like standard donkey bets. I find it hard myself to not raise those kinds of bets. I like to call them kitty cat bets. Anyways your not winning this hand if you dont bet so sure. I can't tell you anything different to do except maybe just call on the flop or fold but I wouldnt so im not going to tell you to do it.

without stats or history I don't really try to 3 barrel unless the board texture makes me think I can get away with it. Here I often raise the flop bet because it often means nothing, but once all those draws come in on the turn and he donks again I would just give up and fold. You tried on the flop and it didn't work, and without any reads continuing to bluff in this spot is bad.

His timing was weak too, it really seems to me that this is a 88-JJ Ahx type broadway. Am I way off in my thinking?

he's not folding an overpair if thats what you put him on. I don't think this is +EV.

Why wouldn't he, 4 card straight is there, flush is there, 7 is there, boat is there. If he calls with an overpair then I think its reasonable to mark him free money..

This seems really bad. I try 3 barreling when people don't show interest in the pot.

what makes you think he didn't hit the board in some significant way?

you can mark him free money once he donks the turn like that. Also, if you want to go beyond first level then there is like no way in hell that you ever show up with a 6 here so you can't rep a straight. Also, you can rep pretty much exactly 3 flushes so that doesn't matter here either. The only FH you have here like ever is if you flopped it. Basically you have overpair/air here all the time.

I don't like that line, due to reasons CDL gave.
Furthermore, I wouldn't try to make such a nasty move against an unknown, as long as you haven't seen him do "good" laydowns and stuff, average donk will call you down far too often to make this +EV...
